Summary BlueStacks HD AppPlayer Pro
BlueStacks has made the first beta version of its Android app player for Windows. The central component is LayerCake that translates the written for the ARM architecture apps for x86. In the new version LayerCake also includes hardware acceleration, which was not yet available in Alpha last year.
The latter feature allows Android apps to access the graphics system of the PC, so Android NDK games like "Attack HD" to run clean. "This is almost like hardware acceleration in the browser," said BlueStacks CEO Rosen Sharma. In addition, the buildings used for control on a smartphone sensors will be replaced by a familiar mouse control or a trackpad.
The Alpha had been last year for three months available. During this time BlueStacks registered over one million downloads - more than even Amazon could sell at the same time on Android tablets. Sharma says thus: "It is quite possible that we are the most important Android platform for large screens in two months."
Apps can be downloaded directly from BlueStacks; an Android smartphone is not necessary. About the Cloud Connect function of the PC users can also implement telephone functions such as sending SMS. The apps run the option in full screen mode or in a window. With the beta, there is support for twelve languages English and other.
BlueStacks hopes that many PC users appreciate the comparatively cheap and easy to use smartphone apps that they too can now edit some pictures.
